2018 JIANGSU OVERSEAS TALENTS
THE INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP COMPETITION
IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
2018 Jiangsu Overseas
Talents Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in the United Kingdom was
successfully held on November 25th in Imperial College London, with
the aim of effectively implementing the strategy of talent development of
Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Government, and attracting and gathering
overseas high-level entrepreneurial and innovative talents.
After a one-month registration, ten projects led by students and
scholars from Cambridge University, Oxford University, Imperial College London,
University College London and other top universities were reviewed by the
organizing committee and nominated to the competition, and prepared to seek a place
in the final competition being held in Jiangsu in December.
Projects covered a wide
range of areas including bioscience, environmental engineering, quantum
communication, electronic information, financial big data, intelligent Internet
of things, and aerodynamics.
Jiangsu Provincial
Department of Human Resources and Social Security led a team of experts in
related fields from eight cities who were invited as the evaluation panel. Seven
out of ten projects stood out after being assessed and were assured a place in
the final competition in Jiangsu Province.
The shortlisted projects
are invited to participate in the final competition being held on December 7th,
2018 in Jiangsu Province. During the events, room and board expenses of the
participants will be borne by the organizing committee. Participants will also
be offered traffic allowance of 6,000 RMB per person. Projects landing in
Jiangsu Province can enjoy supportive services of entrepreneur training,
management consulting, innovation resources sharing, recruitment, angel
investment and so on.
Furthermore, in order to
introduce the development environment of Jiangsu Province and to promote regional
talent introduction policies for high-level talents in the UK, the team of
experts also travelled to Edinburgh and interchanged ideas with leaders of
Association of Chinese Professionals in the UK and representatives of Doctorate
Association on talents cooperation.
