April 28th, 2018 was a day of great significance, when the first UK-China High-Level Talent Fair was successfully held at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London, under the guidance and support of Education Section, Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Fair marks the official launch of a high-level talent exchange platform that is stable, standardized, specialized and globally embracing.
In total there were 59 prominent leading firms from China
and the UK, over 3,000 Chinese students and scholars from University of Oxford,
University of Cambridge, Imperial College, London School of Economics, Warwick
University and other UK universities, along with nearly 300 elites from the UK,
France, Germany, Canada and Singapore gathered together for this splendid
event. The fair secured more than 1,000 recruitment positions and established
more than 60 collaborative projects.
According
to statistics, the fair received more than 3,000 registrations. Among all the
applicants, 65% obtained Master degrees, 19% Doctorate degrees, and 23% of the
applicants had at least three years of work experience.
The 2018 debut UK-China High-Level Talent Fair achieved
superb results, encouraging communications between China and the UK and also
Europe. Compared to similar events over the years, this fair was the most
successful in terms of size and caliber of the exhibitors, number of employable
participants, available recruiting positions, and the effectiveness of the exhibition
and media coverage. A new chapter begins when a vast number of overseas
students and foreign elites actively seek employment opportunities in China.
'The main news broadcaster in China being CCTV, and the Central People's
Government of China, paid great attention to the fair. Xinhua News Agency,
People's Daily, CCTV, Phoenix TV, China Net, the European Times, UK Chinese
Journal and other media also promoted this event. Many domestic media also
circulated the news reports.
According to statistics, more than 100 news broadcasters reported the fair and forwarded relevant news, which covered more than 30 pages in major search engines. The fair highly attracted public attention that reverberated in the press.
2018 UK-China High-Level Talent Fair was called by Chinese and British media as "the largest and most influential talent exchange event between China and the UK so far."
